2023: End of Year Thank You’s!

We can’t believe that it’s already reached the end of the year! We thought today’s blog post should be dedicated to all those who’ve helped us expand and welcome new members of our Idaho Jewels Poodles family! That’s right… today we’re talking about our team, vet, transporters, and most importantly our clients!

Our Team

Reino & Mai Mai

Our team is full of pet-lovers and hard workers! If you want to learn more about each of our individual responsibilities, check out Our Team page here on the website! This year has been full of NEW responsibilities for our caregivers (Kristin, Arik, and Brecklyn). Each one of them does their service with a smile, and is eager to help out when things fall off of management’s (Julie, Reino, and Bek) plate!

This year we started doing ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation), and Arik and Kristin are troopers at keeping up at it! At first it was a challenge to remember to do it, but then we made a little chart to hang up in the nursery to remind us to do it each day for our little babies… Not only has it improved our bonds with the puppies, but it’s made each of our puppies better socialized and a lot more friendly. Kristin is amazing at remembering to do this each day, and in turn it has helped her be more attentive of what each of their personalities are like as they develop and grow.

We started using Potty Boxes and The City Loo with our puppies this year! It’s taken us a lot of years to find products that we actually enjoy and think that our customers will enjoy too! More and more of our puppies are getting a head-start on potty training before leaving our care as they’re eager to stay out of their potty mess! It’s been exciting as there’s less clean-up for our caregivers throughout the day!

Arik graduated High School, and is now on our team as a Full-Timer! He’s been a great help to have every day. He is kind of everybody’s assistant, and is great at going with the flow of everyday chores and being pulled off of a chore when he’s needed elsewhere by Reino, Bek or Kristin. He’s eager to help, and adores handling the puppies and helping Bek out with pictures!

Bek designed this new website this year! Before our new website, we had all of our puppies on one big page, and you had to scroll through each dog along with all their information to see other dogs. In our current format, it’s super easy to get an overview of what we have before you decide to learn about each puppy. If we ever recommend puppies to you in our emails, we generally link you right to the individual puppy’s information page! It’s been great to lessen confusion and boost usability for all involved!

Our Veterinarian

We are so grateful for the work that our veterinarian puts into making time for us and our breeding program. We truly work hand-in-hand with them on evaluating each of our puppies. We only want to produce puppies with optimal health, but part of what goes into that is getting a professional opinion from our vet and discussing any questions we may have with them. As a breeder, it’s incredibly important to have a solid relationship with your vet.

Each week we have a standing vet appointment on Fridays because sometimes we’ll have clients ready to take their puppy home that weekend, and it’ll be hard to get an appointment last minute. By having the standing appointment available, we aren’t wasting their time, but we’re helping them better organize it. If we don’t end up needing that appointment, we do cancel it. Kristin has taken over responsibility as our primary vet-runner as Julie & Reino just don’t have the time to make it to each appointment.

When at the vet, thorough notes about each dog are made—whether that be about a first check, final vet check, health certificate, or emergency visit. Our vet is great about answering any questions we may have, and will even call us if he needs to explain something that’s complex to Julie or Reino. None of this would be possible without our vet. We are so grateful for all of the help they’ve provided.

Our Transporters

It’s no small feat to take a puppy from Point A to Point B. Many of our transporters are free-lance, and use this as their part-time (or even full-time job). Some of them have other jobs on the side that they have to take time off from! We’re incredibly thankful for all of the work that they put into safely transporting our puppies to their new homes.

Whether it be through a puppy nanny or by a ground transporter, when you commit to transportation through Idaho Jewels Poodles, you know that you’re getting quality service from other animal lovers. We work with a few ground transport companies that go Nation-wide, but we do have a couple of individuals who do local, Neighboring-State homes. They’re eager to help families get their pups as soon as possible and have more flexible schedules. We’re so thankful for when they’ve driven late through the night, or through the snow to get to their destination!

Puppy Nannies hand deliver your puppy after flying with them in-cabin. They all love animals and are able to get discounted rates as they generally work for airlines. It’s exciting being able to work with professionals who are able to quote a price, schedule a flight, and meet you at your closest International Airport! They even keep you updated with texts during delivery, so you can keep track of where your puppy is at throughout their travels!

Our Clients & Guardian Homes

Heidi at her forever-guardian home, Christmas 2022!

Last, but certainly not least, we have our clients to thank for another year here at Idaho Jewels Poodles! None of this would be possible if we didn’t have such great families willing to provide fantastic homes for our poodles! In fact, this year we’ve made it more of a point to share our testimonials instead of keeping them to ourselves.

On each “Mama Page,” you’ll find testimonials and pictures that previous clients have shared! We’re incredibly thankful for everyone who’s eager to share. We print these out and share them with our team on a wall, and then we save to share to our social media channels and attach pictures to the parents pages to share for later! We hope to see more special moments with our previous puppies in the new year! If you have any fun photos from Christmas to share, PLEASE PLEASE share with us! I’m begging you!

It may not be that big of a deal to you, but it makes ALL the difference for us when you refer your friends and family to adopt through Idaho Jewels Poodles. Whether you’ve done it in a grocery store, or had a long phone call with your parents about how great our doggies are, every little bit helps! Earlier this year we had someone find out about us from someone who snuck their dog into church! However you happen to get the word out, we’re incredibly thankful. More than half of our adoptions happen because of referrals, so none of this would be possible without you and your generosity for recommending us!

Puppies of the Week!

In case you missed it… we listed a ton of toy and mini puppies this past week! We’ve got the cutest little babies here, ready to go in the New Year! We’re also listing a couple of new litters this weekend, so keep your eyes peeled!
